The tower was built on the site of the original World Trade Center, which was destroyed during the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. The One World Trade Center features a unique design with a triangular base and a spire on top. It also boasts a number of sustainability features, including a rainwater collection system and energy-efficient heating and cooling. The tower was opened on November 3, 2014, and is home to offices, a museum, and an observation deck known as the One World Observatory.
